Mozilla Firefox
Description
Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser that uses the Gecko rendering engine. It is full-featured, and primarily intended for general-purpose web browsing on platforms that are not resource-constrained. It is notable for the large collection of third-party plugins that are available to extend its functionality.
Some Debian-based distributions use the name ‘Iceweasel’ instead of ‘Firefox’ in order to work around Mozilla’s trademark policy, which forbids the incorporation of unapproved patches into branded versions of the browser (making it impossible to provide independent third-party support). In other respects the differences are minimal, and for the purposes of this website references to Firefox should be considered to include Iceweasel.
